The COBI programme is an intensive, challenging intervention designed for individuals exhibiting obsessive and controlling behaviours, such as stalking and harassment. Utilising Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), our facilitators help participants identify and improve their thinking processes and emotional responses.

Suitable For:

The programme is suitable for perpetrators of all typologies, including rejected, resentful, intimacy seekers, and incompetent suitors. Participants are typically mandated to attend as part of a Stalking Protection Order (SPO) through a magistrate’s court.

Delivery:

COBI is delivered over 13 sessions, which can be conducted remotely or one-on-one. The sessions are facilitated by qualified Probation Officers, Counsellors, or professionals with extensive experience in cognitive-based treatment programmes.

Outcomes:

Participants in the COBI programme develop strategies to manage harmful behaviours, focusing on healthier interpersonal skills, empathy, and calming techniques. We work with perpetrators to set goals that enhance the welfare and safety of their victims, continuously monitoring their behaviour throughout the intervention.

Domestic Abuse Behaviour Change Intervention

Domestic Abuse Behaviour Change Intervention

Our comprehensive and intensive Domestic Abuse Behaviour Change Intervention programme aims to prevent further incidents of domestic abuse and address wider safeguarding issues for children and families. We support perpetrators in changing their behaviour to develop respectful, non-abusive relationships while assessing and managing their risks to the victim. Our programme works directly with domestic abuse victim advocacy and support services to manage risks effectively.

Suitable For:

The programme is suitable for anyone perpetrating domestic abuse. Referrals are accepted on a case-by-case basis, ensuring the programme can benefit relationships with current or future partners.

Delivery:

The intervention is delivered through one-on-one or group sessions, consisting of 10 core sessions lasting up to 90 minutes each. Participants undergo assessments before and after completing the programme.

Outcomes:

Participants in the programme will:

  • Understand what constitutes a healthy relationship and how to achieve it.
  • Change harmful behaviours.
  • Gain insight into their thoughts, feelings, and actions.
  • Communicate effectively and responsibly.
  • Recognise the impact of their behaviour on children.

Additionally, a Domestic Abuse Safety Adviser is available to help partners or ex-partners access support and develop personalised safety plans to protect themselves and their children.

Challenging Unhealthy Relationship Beliefs and Behaviours (CURBB)

Challenging Unhealthy Relationship Beliefs and Behaviours (CURBB)

The Challenging Unhealthy Relationship Beliefs and Behaviours (CURBB) programme is an early intervention initiative aimed at preventing the escalation of domestic abuse.

Suitable For:

CURBB is designed for first-time, low-level domestic abuse offenders who acknowledge and admit their offences. Participants are mandated to attend as part of the diversionary cautions scheme, offering an opportunity for early intervention to address the underlying causes of their behaviour with a focus on rehabilitation and reparation.

Delivery:

The programme consists of four group sessions, each lasting 3.5 hours, along with an opening and closing session delivered one-on-one remotely. Participation is mandated either as part of a court order or a conditional discharge at a custody suite through the diversionary cautions scheme.

Outcomes:

Participants will earn about the different types, harms, and consequences of domestic abuse. Reduce the risk of harm to known and unknown victims. The CURBB programme is linked to the full Healthy Relationships interventions, serving as a gateway to more comprehensive support rather than an alternative.
